Mission Statement

Edison Foard, Inc. and its officers and staff are committed to providing a work environment that is free of any discrimination with regard to race, creed or gender. Although this has been the unwritten policy of the company for decades, in the past year or so we have moved to a more formal program to proactively encourage and promote the hiring and advancement of racial and religious minorities, females and veterans. Furthermore, we actively pursue minority subcontractors to bid on both public and private projects. Each week our Project Management staff is briefed on our commitment to hire minorities and woman for our workforce. Our Project Managers in turn remind the Superintendents in the field of this commitment by Edison Foard, Inc.

We encourage all employees, in particular minorities to take advantage of educational opportunities, which are available from the Associated General Contractors, Central Piedmont Community College and any other agency. The company will reimburse employees for the expenses directly related to such courses upon successfully completion. Our field forces are exposed to on-the-job training by working with more experienced personnel and adding skills necessary for an increase in pay and ultimately a promotion.

Effective January 1, 1999, we have made a major investment in a new computer system which enables us to better comply with Equal Opportunity requirements.

The contractor agrees to post this non-discrimination clause in conspicuous places, available to employees and applicants for employment.
