Edison Foard Construction is excited to kick off Phase I of the Hilton Head Island Airport Terminal Improvements Project, a transformative endeavor aimed at enhancing airport facilities. Partnering with The Wilson Group, this $30.9 million, two-year project will be funded through FAA and SC Aeronautics Grants, State Funds, and airport revenue. The extensive scope includes a cutting-edge TSA screening checkpoint, modernized boarding gate areas, terminal access upgrades, new boarding bridges, and improved pedestrian circulation. This collaborative effort, which began in 2019, involved various stakeholders and was designed to cater to customer and tenant needs. While initial challenges arose due to post-COVID-19 economic inflation, the project design team successfully re-bid and reorganized the effort. This significant project will inject considerable economic growth into the local community and promises to enhance the passenger experience.
